Seven Cups We’re all about the tea

Welcome to Seven Cups. If this is your first time here, we’re happy you found us. I want to tell you about our company, because I think our tea speaks for itself.  Chances are that one of our customers told you about us. Our customers range from the Food Conspiracy , to Whole Foods Markets, to tea lovers in more than 50 different countries around the world.

Our primary purpose is to connect you with some of China’s best tea makers. We are the only international tea company to have been granted our own Chinese trading license. That means that we have complete control of our supply chain. We are committed to openness in everything that we do as a business. We don’t keep any trade secrets to mask the truth about our sourcing, because we want you to know exactly where your tea comes from.  We inspect all of our producers not only for quality, but also for farming practices and how they treat their workers. And we are the first American company to be honored by The Chinese International Tea Culture Institute for our contributions to Chinese Tea Culture.

I know that all sounds very grandiose, but we are actually a very small company made up of a handful of very dedicated people. We care deeply for our producers and our customers and each other. We ship every order we receive the day we receive it and answer every email. We are in the tea business because we love our work, and we are always trying to do it better.

Please look around our site.  We maintain a blog that includes many videos about tea and tea culture, as well as some clips from our tours. There is a lot to read, and there is a lot of information about each individual tea in the shopping cart.

We work hard at this business and we’re happy to be doing it.  If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, or at one of our tea houses, let us know.  We’ll take you to China on one of our tours to begin the search yourself.

  • Cold Winters, Floods, and the Price of Tea Posted August 2nd, 2010

It is just about that time of year when we start asking ourselves why we started a tea business in Tucson. The monsoons are hovering in the evening, sparing a drop or two, providing just enough humidity to stop evaporative coolers from working. Today it is raining hard and roofs all over Tucson are leaking…

  • 2 Years, Too Much: Perspectives on the U.S. Tea Industry Posted June 30th, 2010

I was asked many months ago to write about my experience with the tea industry for this blog; I have had so little time and it has taken me a long time to put my thoughts together… even now I am not sure I have done the best job, but this is more or less the story of what happened with my blog, authori-tea.com.
