How To Brew Tea

When people first shift from low quality tea bags to loose tea they are unsure how to brew the perfect pot of tea. No need to worry. It’s easy if you start with fine tea, add high quality water and steep to your personal taste. Since different types of tea require different water temperatures and amount of tea, we have given these general guidelines to get started.

General Guidelines

Green Tea                                1/2 Tbsp-1 1/2 Tbsp(3 gms)   160-180F                                1/2-2 mins.

Oolong Tea                              1/2-2 Tbsp (4 gms)                  212F                                         1/2-2 mins.
Black Tea                                 1/2 Tbsp-2 Tbsp (4gms)          212F                                         1/2-2 mins.
Puer Tea                                  1/2-2Tbsp (4gms)                     212F                                         1 1/2-2 mins.

Feel free to adjust the steeping time or amount of tea to your taste. Remember loose tea leaves can be infused many times.  Green and white tea can be infused at least three times while oolong, black and puer can be infused at least five times.

Brewing tips

  • Rinse the pot with hot water then add the tea leaves shake and smell the aroma of your tea
  • When pouring the water to brew allow it to circulate over the tea leaves.
