The Taoist tradition originated in China. In fact, the Taoist daoshi were the first people to cultivate tea in the Han Dynasty. This connection with Taoism is beautifully represented in the design of this round pot. The eight trigrams encircling the pot are the building blocks of the 64 hexagrams within the I Ching, the famous Taoist text. The specially designed spout not only allows for a faster pour, it represents the balancing of yin and yang energy into one.
