Our name, Seven Cups, comes from a poem that was written during the Tang Dynasty by Lu Tong, a hermit. He was so moved by a gift of Chinese tea that he wrote this poem:

‘The first cup kisses away my thirst,
and my loneliness is quelled by the second.
The third gives insight worthy of ancient scrolls,
and the fourth exiles my troubles.
My body becomes lighter with the fifth,
and the sixth sends word from immortals.
But the seventh-oh the seventh cup- If I drink you,
a wind will hurry my wings toward the sacred island.‘

This poem is printed on each of these glass jars; reminding you to enjoy your tea every time you drink.

This double walled glass travel jar is perfect for the tea lover on the go. Fits in your cupholder!  Holds about 10 oz. of water.

The glass is thick and sturdy. Due to the double walled design, you can brew piping hot tea and keep your hands from getting too hot. Also, because this is a glass container, you do not have to worry about plastic leaching into your tea or affecting the flavor.

How to use: remove the lid and strainer. Add tea and replace metal strainer. Then add water and allow time for the tea to brew. Then enjoy! Click on the detailed images below to see Zhuping making tea with our glass travel jar.

I just received the travel jar yesterday and tried it out this morning. I love it! I do have one problem though. The lid has Seven Cups misspelled. The lid on my jar Seven Cups is spelled Scven Cups. I will be contacting for a replacement lid as this is an embarrassing defect. Thank you.
