Tea master Wang Feng Sheng uses larger leaves and tea buds, wrapped tightly with two pieces of an herbal flower called "Qian Ri Hong" (Globe Amaranth) , to make his Double Happiness display tea. Chinese use Qian Ri Hong for its cooling properties. When dry, the display tea looks looks unusual, somewhat like a football. When brewed, both sides open to reveal a beautiful red flower, which pops up over a stunning fresh green backdrop. When Mr. Wang designed this tea, he wanted wish the drinker double good luck. A picking standard of one open leaf and one bud gives this tea a rich flavor with no bitterness, and the Qian Ri Hong flower lends a light sour plum flavor to the cup. The richness lasts at least 7 infusions. Remember to save some tea at the bottom of the glass before adding more water. |
