Seven Cups Franchising
Seven Cups is now accepting applications for our Limited Franchising program. Sourcing tea in China is our core competency, and limited franchises, like our pilot franchise in Denver, Colorado, help to create a market for these teas.
When we say limited franchising, this is what we mean. We don’t want to be the Starbucks of tea. The tea that carries our brand is limited in quantity, so we are looking for only a handful of strategically-located franchises. Our teas are harvested during very short seasons, so a great deal of planning must be done in advance, and we are limited in the number of tea houses we can open per year.
“Opening Seven Cups Denver has been a dream come true, and it couldn’t have happened without the Seven Cups team in Tucson. Their support, guidance and expertise has made this process as easy as opening a business could be. When I first walked into their store in Tucson, I knew that I wanted to do something similar if not identical here in Denver. They say imitation can be a great compliment, and I wanted to not just imitate but duplicate what they had created. I think we were pretty successful in doing that. The one thing I greatly enjoy about all this is that for everyone, in Tucson and in Denver, it all comes down to a deep love for tea. Learning from them has only made me more passionate about tea and its culture. Now if only I can get over to China with them…” — Greg Fellman, Seven Cups Denver
Turn-Key Setup
We have high standards for creating a genuine Chinese tea experience for our customers, so we source everything that goes into setting up a tea house. This includes:
- Tea and tea ware (sourced in China)
- Furniture, decorations, and art (sourced in China)
- Point-of-sales and inventory management software and hardware
Since every piece is hand selected by us in China, planning and purchasing takes time as well.
Ongoing Training and Support
We want our franchises to have the greatest chance for success, so we spend a lot of time providing training to help you succeed. Representing the Seven Cups brand requires continuous learning, because using your knowledge to educate customers is critical to creating a market for a premium cultural product. Our training includes:
- Business and financial planning
- Training in operating and managing a tea house
- Training for management and staff in all aspects of tea and tea culture
- Ongoing support via weekly phone calls, as well as on-the-fly troubleshooting anytime you need it
Seven Cups’ founders are considered to be the leading American experts in Chinese tea and tea culture by the Chinese, and we are members of the Chinese International Tea Culture Institute in Hangzhou.
Criteria for Selection
We are opening a market for the best teas that China produces. We have customers in 35 countries including China, and we are committed to being the best at what we do. If you share our values and have a serious interest in traditional Chinese tea culture, our franchise program may be for you.
Some of our considerations are:
